Welcome to Simplest Tastes, where we provide catering services, specializing in soulful comfort food that enriches not just your taste buds, but your spirit. Our unique recipes and flavors stem from a rich heritage of cooking and meal preparation. From our grandmother, Essie, and her twin sister, Dessie, we learned everything about what food should be. It should be succulent, sublime, and most of all, have The Simplest Tastes.

Simplest Tastes provides catering services specializing in Soul Food from scratch. It is Black- owned and operated by Shandell Staley and Quawana Hassan.
We were inspired to create Simplest Tastes by the time-tested recipes of our Grandmother Essie and her twin sister Dessie. Growing up on the West Side of Chicago, they taught us everything that food should be.
Those lessons learned are the basic ingredients that go into each dish that Simplest Tastes serves. All of the food at Simplest Tastes meets the three (3) basic requirements of our grandmother’s properly prepared food: appealing, aromatic, and succulent.
